BREAKING: Tesla Roadster Takes Flight With SpaceX Thrusters in Texas Reveal

BREAKING NEWS | October 16, 2026 | JigrockRadio News

Elon Musk’s Tesla unveiled its long-awaited second-generation Roadster at a SpaceX testing facility in McGregor, Texas, on Thursday, October 15. In a dramatic demonstration, the electric sports car briefly lifted off the ground, maneuvered in midair and landed using compressed-air thrusters developed with SpaceX.

What did Tesla demonstrate?

The redesigned Roadster drove upside down on a curved ramp using a powerful suction system, then rotated and landed using cold-gas thrusters. Another demonstration showed the car leaping over other Tesla vehicles. The showcase featured a remotely operated prototype rather than a consumer-ready flying car.

Speed, range and launch plans

Tesla says the Roadster can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than one second, exceed 230 mph and travel more than 300 miles on a charge. Those are company claims from a demonstration, not independently verified consumer-vehicle specifications. Musk says production is planned for 2028, after years of delays.

Tesla outlined Performance, Thrust and invitation-only Rocket variants. The Rocket version is designed for more extensive aerial maneuvers, but its legality on public roads and the broader safety implications remain unresolved. Brief powered hops should not be confused with conventional sustained flight.

Will drivers be able to buy one?

Tesla has reopened reservations, but the 2028 production target is not a guarantee of delivery. Pricing and regulatory approval remain key questions. The Roadster is a striking engineering demonstration; whether it becomes a practical consumer vehicle remains to be seen.

Keffe D Sentenced to 40 Years to Life in Tupac Shakur Murder Case

JigrockRadio News | October 13, 2026 | Las Vegas

Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 63, was sentenced Tuesday to 40 years to life in prison for orchestrating the 1996 murder of hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur. A Las Vegas jury convicted Davis of first-degree murder in August.

Three decades after the shooting

Shakur was shot while riding with Death Row Records executive Marion “Suge” Knight in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. He died six days later at age 25. Davis was the only person charged in the killing.

Prosecutors said Davis organized the attack in retaliation for a fight involving his nephew earlier that night. They cited his accounts in interviews, statements to investigators, and a memoir. The defense questioned his credibility and pointed to the lack of physical evidence connecting him to the scene.

Family speaks; appeal planned

Shakur’s relatives spoke about the enduring loss at Tuesday’s sentencing. Davis’s attorney said he plans to appeal the conviction. Although Davis was convicted of organizing the murder, the identity of the person who fired the fatal shots has not been conclusively established.

The case marks a significant legal chapter in one of hip-hop history’s most closely followed unsolved killings.

Diddy Legal Battle Continues: Hospital Visit, Prison Release Update and Appeal

JIGROCKRADIO NEWS | October 12, 2026

Sean “Diddy” Combs is back in the headlines following reports that he was transported from federal prison to a hospital over the weekend for a head injury. According to People and Entertainment Weekly, the injury was described as non-life-threatening, and Combs returned to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey the same day. The cause has not been publicly established; his representatives said they were working to confirm details.

Release date reportedly pushed back

Separate reports this month say Combs’ projected release date changed to March 2, 2028. Reports have linked the change to allegations of contraband and preferential treatment in prison, which his representatives have disputed. Federal prison officials have not publicly confirmed the reason for the date change. Projected release dates can change.

Appeal and legal battles continue

Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence after a jury convicted him in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges. His lawyers appealed the conviction and sentence, with arguments heard in April 2026. Reports claiming his conviction had already been overturned were not substantiated.

In another setback, People reported that Combs was ordered to pay approximately $477,700 in legal fees to NBCUniversal after his defamation lawsuit concerning a documentary was dismissed. He also faces separate civil litigation, in which allegations remain contested.

What happens next?

Attention now turns to his health, the status of his appeal, and any further changes to his projected prison release date. JigrockRadio will continue following verified developments in this high-profile story.

Soulja Boy for President? Rapper Teases Possible 2028 White House Run

JigrockRadio News | October 12, 2026

Could Soulja Boy be headed from the recording studio to the White House? The rapper, born DeAndre Cortez Way, has raised the possibility of a 2028 presidential run after posting “SOULJA BOY 2028” on Instagram on October 10.

In his statement, the “Crank That” artist outlined four areas of interest: economic opportunity, criminal justice reform, education, and the future of technology and artificial intelligence. He described the move as exploring how his experience in music, business, and technology might translate to public service.

Is he officially a candidate?

Not at this stage. The social media announcement did not constitute a formal campaign launch, and Soulja Boy has not identified a political party or released detailed policy proposals. His comments signal an interest in a possible run rather than a confirmed candidacy.

Music, politics and 2028

Soulja Boy became a breakout star with his 2007 viral hit “Crank That (Soulja Boy).” He previously performed at the Crypto Ball during festivities surrounding Donald Trump’s January 2025 inauguration. Other musicians, including Kanye West, have pursued presidential campaigns in the past.

Whether Soulja Boy turns his 2028 message into an organized campaign remains to be seen. JigrockRadio will follow any confirmed developments.

Rap Lyrics on Trial: Attorney Brian Steel Challenges Prosecutors Over Hip-Hop’s Freedom of Expression

ATLANTA, GA — Prominent criminal defense attorney Brian Steel, widely recognized for representing Atlanta rapper Young Thug, has become one of the most visible legal voices challenging prosecutors’ use of rap lyrics as evidence in criminal cases.

The debate centers on a difficult question for hip-hop and the justice system: when an artist writes about violence, street life or crime, should those words be treated as creative expression—or as evidence of real-world conduct?

When Does Music Become Evidence?

Prosecutors have introduced rap lyrics in criminal proceedings when they argue the words are relevant to a defendant’s intent, associations or alleged conduct. Defense attorneys and free-expression advocates counter that rap frequently relies on fictional storytelling, exaggeration, metaphor and performance personas, and that jurors may give lyrics more literal weight than they deserve.

Steel made that dispute a major issue while defending Young Thug in Georgia’s high-profile YSL racketeering prosecution. He challenged the state’s reliance on lyrics, while prosecutors argued that selected lyrics were relevant to their broader allegations.

A Debate Bigger Than One Case

The controversy extends far beyond Young Thug. Scholars, artists, defense lawyers and lawmakers have debated whether rap is treated differently from violent or fictional expression in other forms of music, film and literature.

Critics of using lyrics in court also raise concerns about racial bias, arguing that predominantly Black musical expression can be interpreted as autobiography rather than art. Prosecutors, meanwhile, maintain that creative works can sometimes be relevant evidence when a specific connection to alleged conduct can be established.

Lawmakers Take Notice

The debate has reached state legislatures as well. California enacted restrictions designed to limit the use of creative expression in criminal proceedings, and similar proposals have been discussed elsewhere.

Hip-Hop, Free Speech and the Courtroom

Steel’s fight highlights a question that is likely to remain important as hip-hop cases move through American courts: how should judges balance potentially relevant evidence against the danger that artistic expression itself could prejudice a jury?

JigrockRadio will continue following developments where hip-hop culture, freedom of expression and the justice system intersect.

Kewon White Seeks New Trial in MO3 Murder Case, Citing Allegedly Sleeping Juror

DALLAS — October 8, 2026. Kewon White, convicted last month of capital murder in the 2020 killing of Dallas rapper MO3, has filed a motion requesting a new trial, according to an October 8 report from OBBM Network published by Hyperlocal Loop.

Defense alleges juror slept during testimony

White’s defense attorneys allege that one juror repeatedly appeared to fall asleep during the proceedings, missing portions of testimony and evidence. The defense argues that this compromised White’s right to a fair trial. These are allegations in the defense motion, not findings that the judge has accepted.

According to the report, lawyers raised concerns about the juror during trial and contend that the court’s response did not adequately resolve the issue. The motion asks Judge Chika Anyiam to order a new trial. No new trial has been granted as of this report.

Conviction and separate appeal

A Dallas County jury convicted White of capital murder in September 2026. He received a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole for the killing of Melvin Noble, known professionally as MO3, on Interstate 35E in November 2020. White separately filed a notice of appeal in September. A motion for new trial and an appeal are distinct legal steps.

Connection to Yella Beezy case

Prosecutors have alleged that rapper Yella Beezy, whose legal name is Markies Conway, arranged a murder-for-hire involving White. Conway has pleaded not guilty. His trial has been reported as scheduled for October 26, 2026, although court schedules can change.

JigrockRadio will follow the court’s response to White’s motion and further developments in the related proceedings.

Megan Thee Stallion Drops Two Tina Tuesday Freestyles as Act III Takes Shape

JigrockRadio Music & Culture | October 7, 2026

HOUSTON — Megan Thee Stallion is bringing her Tina Snow persona back into the spotlight with two consecutive “Tina Tuesday” freestyle releases, as she prepares her next album, Act III.

Two Tuesdays, two new freestyles

On September 29, Megan released “Tina Tuesday Freestyle,” accompanied by a video featuring an orange lowrider. The song draws on the sound of Houston rap, with production built around Mike Jones’ “Still Tippin’,” according to REVOLT. The release marked a return to her Tina Snow identity, familiar to fans from her 2018 EP.

A week later, on October 6, she followed with “Is You Cool? – Tina Tuesday Freestyle.” The new visual shifts to an icy setting, with falling snow and platinum-blonde styling. Billboard’s report, syndicated by Radio 88.8, identifies Drumma Boy and Cassh Jay as producers of the second installment.

What we know about Act III

The freestyles arrive as Megan develops Act III, the next chapter after her 2024 projects Megan and Megan: Act II. In reporting published September 29, Pitchfork said Megan had discussed postponing an earlier summer release plan to spend more time writing and recording. As of October 7, no specific album release date has been officially announced.

Tina Snow returns

The Tina Snow alter ego has long provided Megan a space for direct, bar-focused rapping. Across the two videos, she pairs contrasting visuals—a Houston-inspired lowrider and a winter scene—with the shared “Tina Tuesday” branding. Whether additional installments will follow has not been confirmed, but the series gives listeners new material while they wait for Act III.

Watch for what comes next

Fans can follow Megan’s official channels for future releases and album announcements. JigrockRadio will continue covering the music, visuals and cultural conversation around the project.

Yella Beezy Trial Update: Dallas Hearing Examines Witness Deal Ahead of October 26 Jury Selection

JigrockRadio News | October 7, 2026

DALLAS — A pretrial hearing in Dallas rapper Yella Beezy’s capital murder case has put renewed attention on a potential prosecution witness and the terms of his separate federal plea agreement. Jury selection is currently scheduled for October 26, 2026. The rapper has pleaded not guilty; his trial has not yet begun.

What happened at the October 6 hearing?

According to Baller Alert’s account of courtroom reporting by journalist Bryson “Boom” Paul, defense expert Julianna Moore testified Tuesday about a federal cooperation agreement involving Theodore Thomas, also known as Jose Bodega, a person associated with Yella Beezy’s music circle. The testimony addressed Thomas’s federal drug case, a dismissed gun charge and potential benefits tied to cooperation. Those details may become relevant to how jurors assess the credibility of any testimony he provides. These are reports of testimony at a pretrial hearing, not a finding that any witness has lied or that the defendant is guilty.

Why was the trial delayed?

The trial had been set to begin in September. KERA reported that Judge Chika Anyiam granted a postponement after attorneys on both sides sought additional preparation time, including access to the transcript of Kewon White’s trial and coordination of witnesses. Subsequent reporting placed jury selection on October 26. That is a scheduled date, not a guarantee that proceedings will begin without further changes.

The underlying charges

Yella Beezy, whose legal name is Markies Conway, is charged in connection with the November 2020 killing of Dallas rapper MO3, whose legal name was Melvin Noble. Prosecutors allege Conway paid Kewon White to carry out the killing. Conway has denied involvement and pleaded not guilty. White was convicted of capital murder in September 2026 and sentenced to life in prison without parole; his conviction does not establish Conway’s guilt.

What evidence is being disputed?

Pretrial proceedings have also examined whether rap lyrics and music-related material can be used as evidence. FOX 4 reported in July that prosecutors and the defense presented competing interpretations of lyrics and the artists’ public personas. The court must determine what evidence is admissible, and a jury would evaluate the evidence presented at trial.

What comes next?

The next reported milestone is jury selection on October 26. Questions about cooperating witnesses, evidence and the defense’s challenges may be addressed as the case proceeds. JigrockRadio will distinguish allegations, testimony and court findings as updates become available.

Presumption of innocence: Conway is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. The accompanying image is an editorial illustration, not a photograph or documentary depiction of courtroom events.
